What's this puppy going to cost me?

It's not possible to give a nice tidy sum for the Rickshaw Run. It's an adventure, if we could tell you the price it would be a package holiday. Below are a few things that you should think about.

These costs can be covered by your defty ability to raise sponsorship from local companies. This means that with a bit of effort the Rickshaw Run could cost you diddley.

The entry fee: £895 per team which will get you the following medley of delights:

  • First and most importantly is a coveted place on the one and only Rickshaw Run, an adventure of such epical proportions that you'll be boring your grandchildren with tall tales of adventure for years to come.
  • Use of one of our rickshaws to thunder across the sub-continent in with all the paperwork and bureaucracy taken care of, ready to be pimped to your heart's content.
  • The launch and finish line events and parties renound for causing hangovers and lifting the spirits.
  • A team page on the website with blogs, gallery, a section to promote your sponsors, text message updates and live tracking with Google maps so your friends know where you are even if you don't.
  • Advice on fundraising, sponsorship and getting press coverage
  • Our full time India branch working night and day to make the Rickshaw Run is the most stupid thing you can do in India.
  • We co-ordinate directly with the charities and will provide a report on where all your charity money has gone so you keep your sponsors and supporters informed.

Visas: £50-ish, an easy visa to get. It depends on which embassy you get it from.

Petrol: Around £100. Depends on the price of oil, but they are pretty economical.

Food and Accommodation: If you want to make it free you can sleep in the Rickshaw or camp. If you want to live it up in hotels the costs vary enormously depending on how pampered you want to be.

Repairs: You rickshaw has to be handed back in a reasonable condition. So if you break it you'll need to spend a bit of cash to fix it. However the parts are very cheap and anything but the most major repair (as in a completely squashed rickshaw) can be repaired for a matter of pence.

Flights: This depends on you and how far in advance you book it. International flights can be got for £250 if you're very lucky but you are more likely to pay between £500 and £700.

Charity donation: £1000. This is usually raised through fundraising or sponsorship so there is no reason to pay this yourself.
